Red Wine Caramelized Onions And Goats Cheese Canapés
Ingredients
- 2 medium onions (thinly sliced)
- 150 ml red wine
- 4-5 tablespoons of balsamic glaze
- 1 ½ tablespoons of honey
- 1 pre-rolled puff pastry sheet
- 250g goats cheese
- Almond oil
Instructions
Heat the oil and sauté the onions. Once onions are translucent add red wine. Cook until all of the liquid has cooked off. Add balsamic glaze, cook for 2 minutes and stir continuously. At the end add honey. Stir for couple more minutes.
Meanwhile preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
Cut the pastry to your desired size. I used a shot glass and gingerbread forms. Put on the baking tray. Make sure that you are using a non-stick baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
When ready remove from the oven and top with onions. Put the goats cheese into a piping bag and decorate each canapé.
